Arden rookie Ayrton Simmons made his British F4 debut last weekend after turning 15 in the gap between the Donington Park and Thruxton rounds.

The Hampshire races were his first in cars, having raced in a number of different Super One karting classes last year.

Simmons finished all three F4 races – despite the chaotic nature of the Thruxton contests – winning the rookie class in race two and finishing eighth overall sandwiched between a 12th and 17th in races one and three.

“I’m living the dream,” said Simmons. “It was really positive – I got some good experience, which is the most important thing. I finished all the races and wanted to take it easy to start with.

“It was quite stressful watching the first races when I couldn’t take part.”
