British Formula Ford race winner Garry Findlay will make his LMP2 debut this weekend after joining Murphy Prototypes.

Findlay has secured a seat in the European Le Mans Series round at Imola, sharing Murphy’s ORECA-NISSAN 03R with Irish drivers Sean Doyle and Radical regular Patrick Mcclughan.

Findlay, 26, was due to race in LMP3 this year but a deal evaporated shortly before the start of the campaign. He is in talks to extend the deal to race at Spa.

“I’m grateful to team owner Greg Murphy for making this chance available and aim to make the most of it. The team has a reputation for promoting young talent,” said Findlay.

“The LMP2 category is very strong, so there is no better showcase for me than competing against some of sportscar racing’s biggest names. I want to keep the ball rolling.”
