No­ble Jr plots more Su­per Tour­ing

For­mer Rad­i­cal SR1 Cup cham­pion Colin No­ble Ju­nior is plan­ning to com­plete more races in the Su­per Tour­ing Chal­lenge this sea­son af­ter a suc­cess­ful de­but at the Don­ing­ton His­toric Fes­ti­val ear­lier this month.

The 19-year-old won his first race in the cat­e­gory driv­ing a 2000 Vaux­hall Vec­tra, hav­ing fin­ished 11th in For­mula Re­nault NEC in 2015.

“I never ex­pected to be quite as far up as that,” he said. “It was my first race in a fron­twheel driver car and I had only done five or six laps in the car be­fore so I was pleased to win.

“The car was so dif­fer­ent to what I’m used to as I’ve raced aero cars like the For­mula Re­nault and Rad­i­cals.”

No­ble was un­able to com­plete a dou­ble in the sec­ond race af­ter suf­fer­ing a me­chan­i­cal fail­ure.

He has also raced a Rad­i­cal RXC in the GT Open at Es­to­ril ear­lier this year.
