BMW man Tordoff tries the Honda Civic Cup
British Touring Car Championship racer Sam Tordoff was a guest in the Honda Civic Cup at Croft last weekend and took a podium finish.
The Bradford racer, who is used to handling a Wsr-run BMW 125i M Sport in the BTCC, was invited to drive the series’ guest car in North Yorkshire. He was sixth in a wet race two.
The 27-year-old said: “I took up the opportunity because it was a local track to me. There was no testing, nothing like that – and I have never raced with a manual gearbox or on road tyres.
“Some of the guys are proper experts and I was learning. The rain for race two made it really tough too – but afterwards, we all sat around and had a cuppa and chatted about racing for ages. It was really good fun.”
