Guy Wigley will debut his new Ford Fiesta S2000 on the Abingdon Car-nival Stages next month after selling his ex-francois Delecour Peugeot 306 Maxi.

The car is in gravel-spec, and is currently being changed over ready for the event. Wigley has tested the car.

“I just fancied something modern,” said Wigley. “It’s lovely, really easy compared to the 306. It didn’t feel quite as quick as the Maxi but it’s much more precise, you can put it exactly where you want it to go.”

Wigley is well known in national circles for driving his 306 Maxi on the limit, but the car is headed to France where it will be restored and put into a museum.

“I’m sad to see it go,” added Wigley. “But it’s going to the right place, it’s going to be restored back to as if Francois was sitting in it for the first time.”
