Mallock races part of his family’s history
Richard Mallock will race a piece of his family history at Snetterton this weekend when he drives a 1964 Mallock Mk4 in the Classic Clubmans race.
The Mk4 was one of the dynasty of cars designed and built by Richard’s father Major Arthur Mallock and, though he has raced most types of Mallock, this will be his first race in a Mk4.
Mallock will race the car as Classic Clubmans works to bring more of the early cars into the category. The Mk4 is owned by Bill Pearce and has not raced for at least 20 years. “We’ve totally rebuilt it from the ground up,” said Richard, while his son Charlie has built its pre-crossflow Ford engine.
“Arthur raced a Mk4 on the old Snetterton track, but I’ve never raced one before,” said Richard, who has been racing for 50 years.
