Gallagher back to BRC in ex-rob Duggan Peugeot
Marty Gallagher will return to the British Rally Championship for the Nicky Grist Stages – but with a change of car.
Gallagher, who is in a four-way tie for the BRC 4 championship lead, has purchased Rob Duggan’s Peugeot 208 R2. Gallagher will continue in the Irish Tarmac Championship before heading to Builth Wells in Wales for the Nicky Grist.
“We will be pushing hard in Donegal [next ITRC round] and expect to be competitive in it,” said Gallagher. “But the big push is going to come on the next round of the British Rally Championship, the Nicky Grist Stages. I am looking to do more gravel events to build up my experience and the 208 seems to have that little edge over the other cars in the woods.” Gallagher will be the first registered BRC competitor to field a Peugeot 208 R2, meaning the championship will have had all the major R2 manufacturers competing.
