Anderson to Mini Epynt for asphalt run
British championship driver Jamie Anderson will get an early taste of Epynt rallying when he enters this weekend’s Welsh Marches Mini Epynt, the only BRC regular to do so.
The BRC takes in Epynt on the Sunday of the Nicky Grist Stages on July 10.
Anderson has never competed on the asphalt roads of the Epynt military ranges so is hoping to gain some experience of the unique challenge that they offer. He will compete in his regular Ford Fiesta R5.
“The thinking behind it really is just a bit of practice for Epynt because I’ve not been up there before,” said Anderson. “We’ve got the Nicky Grist coming up in a few weeks, which uses Epynt, so really it’s just to try and get a bit of practice before then.”
Anderson currently sits eighth in the British championship, despite having limited experience of the BRC events.
“Epynt is similar to some of the stages used on the Circuit of Ireland and we hadn’t done anything there either,” he said.
Anderson is inexperienced on asphalt and wants seat time
