Irishman Derek Tohill elected to miss the British World RX counter at Lydden Hill to focus on round two of the European championship in Norway next week.

Tohill had entered the Kent event for extra seat time in his Olsbergsmse-built Ford Fiesta Supercar. But having secured an entry in Norway by virtue of his 12th place in round one in Belgium, the double-european RX Touringcar champion is hoping to contest a full campaign as a non-permanent entrant.

“We had a lot of work to do after Belgium so we decided to concentrate on being as organised as possible before the next Euro RX race,” said Tohill. “We’ve not been part of the European championship for almost three years and there have been a lot of changes. It shows the strength of the series that non-permanent entries are far from guaranteed this season.”
