Rain causes Texas Indycar race to be redflagged and postponed until end of August
The remainder of the Texas Indycar race will take place in August after heavy rain showers affected the venue last weekend.
The race was postponed until Sunday after wet weather prevented it from starting on Saturday.
But further rain once the race began led it to be redflagged after just 71 laps.
It means the other 177 laps of the contest will now take place on August 27, the Saturday after the Pocono round of the series, as not enough of the race was completed to declare a result. There will be a practice session before racing resumes with the positions from the abandoned race.
James Hinchcliffe was leading at the time of the rain with Ryan Hunter-reay, Mikhail Aleshin, Will Power and Ed Carpenter next up.
