Cice­ley to give BTCC tests to Clio Cup men

Cice­ley Mo­tor­sport’s Re­nault UK Clio Cup driv­ers will get the chance to test the squad’s race-win­ning Bri­tish Tour­ing Car Cham­pi­onship MercedesBenz A-class.

Driv­ers Max Coates, Dan Ze­los and Ol­lie Pid­g­ley will all get the chance to drive the tour­ing car when the cur­rent sea­son has fin­ished.

The se­ries cham­pion al­ready re­ceives a BTCC test with Mo­tor­base and Cice­ley’s de­ci­sion fur­ther strength­ens ties be­tween the two cat­e­gories.

Team boss and Cice­ley BTCC driver Adam Mor­gan said: “Hav­ing seen the im­me­di­ate im­pact the top driv­ers com­ing from the UK Clio Cup have had in Bri­tish Tour­ing Cars – and I know, I’m up against them! – we feel each of our driv­ers af­ter a sea­son in the UK Clio Cup will be ready for a run in the tourer.

“We put great pride into nur­tur­ing our young driv­ers and re­ally be­lieve this adds sig­nif­i­cant value to what we can of­fer those join­ing our team in fu­ture. Every­thing about the UK Clio Cup pre­pares the driver for tour­ing cars as well as ca­reers in other ma­jor cat­e­gories.”
