Ciceley to give BTCC tests to Clio Cup men
Ciceley Motorsport’s Renault UK Clio Cup drivers will get the chance to test the squad’s race-winning British Touring Car Championship MercedesBenz A-class.
Drivers Max Coates, Dan Zelos and Ollie Pidgley will all get the chance to drive the touring car when the current season has finished.
The series champion already receives a BTCC test with Motorbase and Ciceley’s decision further strengthens ties between the two categories.
Team boss and Ciceley BTCC driver Adam Morgan said: “Having seen the immediate impact the top drivers coming from the UK Clio Cup have had in British Touring Cars – and I know, I’m up against them! – we feel each of our drivers after a season in the UK Clio Cup will be ready for a run in the tourer.
“We put great pride into nurturing our young drivers and really believe this adds significant value to what we can offer those joining our team in future. Everything about the UK Clio Cup prepares the driver for touring cars as well as careers in other major categories.”
