Indri makes Belgium return in Wervik
MSA Asphalt regular John Indri returned to Belgium for the first time in 20 years on Rally Van Wervik last weekend.
Indri formed part of a large English contingent (see in brief), and returned having competed in the 1996 Peugeot Challenge on Rally Ypres.
“We went to have a good laugh and it makes sense coming from Essex,” said Indri. “It took us four and a half hours to get there, I can’t get to Epynt for that. They gave us a free entry and away we went.”
The Essex driver suffered a 1m10s penalty for lateness after hitting a chicane thanks to a misunderstanding with his Belgian co-driver, and finished 11th. Without the penalty he could have been as high as eighth, in just his fourth event in the car.
