this week (June 8, 2016) continues to report the doom and gloom that currently is stage rallying.
Mull loses the Griburn stage. Jack Benyon pondering WRC rules in 2017 and the future of R5 cars. Max Vatanen and DMACK struggling between R2 and R5 cars – goodness knows what the difference is.
David Evans getting excited about the Eastgate clock in Chester and perhaps Rally GB moving out of Wales – maybe driven by National Resources Wales and their increase in forest road charges, although having been a forest stage rally organiser I’ve never thought the charges were sufficient to meet the repair costs.
Me, I’m glad I was involved in stage rallying in the heydays of the 1970s and 1980s when it was real rallying, when the RAC (oh, sorry Dayinsure Wales Rally GB) attracted such vast entries that the British Champion would be seeded in the 1940s...
Now when is the next British Historic Rally Championship round?
