LETTERS National disgrace

Motor Sport News - - Racing Reports -

I have returned from a sunny Donington Park, feeling quite deflated by what I had seen.

Superkarts had done their thing with some good racing but the races were dominated by one or two drivers.

Britcars? What is the point of two 50-minute races for eight cars? I enjoy endurance racing but you need far more cars on the track to make it interesting. The organisers should be very worried about the championship’s future.

The Junior Saloon Car Championship is a great series being spoiled by poor driving standards, far too many cars finished – or didn’t – with heavy damage. The headmaster of the series need to put some of these school children in detention and sort things out for the good of the championship.

It was funny to see on one car a sticker about racing with respect, this seems to be sadly missing.

I think there must have been a lot of team owners worrying about their respective championship as they drove home.

The next meeting I go to will be a 750MC meeting at Cadwell Park. I am expecting fuller grids, close racing and everybody showing each other some respect.
