Bot­tas an­gry after ‘un­ac­cept­able’ loose drain cover dam­aged his Wil­liams in Azer­bai­jan

Wil­liams driver Valt­teri Bot­tas has de­scribed the loose drain cover that dam­aged his car in the pit­lane dur­ing prac­tice for the Euro­pean Grand Prix as an “un­ac­cept­able” oc­cur­rence.

De­bris flew into the air after the in­ci­dent, which only nar­rowly missed mar­shals that were stand­ing on the pit­wall. “It’s not ac­cept­able at all that these kind of things still hap­pen,” said Bot­tas.

“It’s not the first drain cover in F1 that has come loose, and luck­ily it was in the pit­lane.
