Tin-top stars out at Sil­ver­stone Clas­sic

The Her­itage Tour­ing Car Chal­lenge will have a record grid of more than 50 cars when it makes its stand-alone de­but at the Sil­ver­stone Clas­sic.

As one of the races on ‘Tin Top Sun­day’ (July 31), the se­ries for pre-1990 tour­ing cars has at­tracted an out­stand­ing en­try in­clud­ing World Tour­ing Car cham­pion Rob Huff in a Ford Capri.

Boosted by the suc­cess of the Gerry Mar­shall Tro­phy race at Good­wood, the en­try will in­cluded a dozen three­l­itre Capris, eight Rover SD1S and two Chevro­let Ca­maros.

For­mer BTCC race win­ner Jeff Allam will race the Bp-liv­er­ied Ford Capri he first raced in 1979.
