Edd Straw discovers the varied expertise of damper firm Ohlins

Motor Sport News - - Ohlins Dampers -

Since being formed by Kenth Ohlin in 1976, Ohlins Advanced Suspension Technology has established itself as the leading motorsport damper supplier worldwide. A bold claim, you might think, but a glance at its achievements shows just how successful it has been, with too numerous titles to list stretching to the pinnacle of motorsport.

The demands in different disciplines vary dramatically and requires Ohlins to have a wide range of characteristics across its family of products. Just imagine how different the requirements are for a set of dampers needed to win the Le Mans 24 Hours 15 times in the past 17 years to those needed to triumph in a fourminute World Rallycross final.

The head of the Ohlins motorsport department, Jonas Jarlmark Nafver, has oversight of all of the company’s motorsport activities and is well placed to give an overview of the differing requirements.
