Former Regazzoni F2 Tecno returns to the circuits this season
An ex-clay Regazzoni Formula 2 Tecno from 1970 is back racing this season in the hands of former Super Kart racer Julian Stokes.
After four seasons in karts, Oxfordshire-based Stokes saw the car at Paul Dudley’s workshops and eventually bought it. Dudley raced the Tecno in the late 1990s but it then sat unused for more than 15 years.
Stokes has rebuilt the car, drawing on period photographs, and is now racing it in the Historic Sports Car Club’s Classic Racing Car category with a 1600cc BDA engine.
“I saw it in the back of a shed five years ago and I just love cars,” said Stokes. “But I’ve got a lot to learn.”
