Cameron Davies needs to win his home round of the ST Trophy and hope that rival Sam Bilham is at least two places behind in order for him to move into the championship lead with two rallies remaining.

After missing the season opening Cambrian Rally, Welshman Davies has won all four events he’s entered this year. However, Bilham’s consistency means he tops the standings by three points heading to this weekend’s Nicky Grist Stages.

“Hopefully if all goes to plan we can take the lead,” said Davies, who aims to step up to the DMACK Junior British championship in 2017. “You don’t get rewarded much for wins, but that’s how the points work.”

George Lepley returns to the ST Trophy this weekend after missing the previous round due to school exams. The 17-year-old has been the closest challenger to Davies on the events they have both contested.
