Adam loses FIA WEC Aston drive
Jonathan Adam remains confident that he has a future in the FIA World Endurance Championship, despite losing his seat with the Aston Martin Racing team.
AMR last week announced it would trim its WEC roster to run just two drivers in each of its V12 Vantages instead of the original three. Both Adam and Fernando Rees have dropped off the entry, with Darren Turner now sharing one car with Richie Stanaway and Nicki Thiim sharing with Marco Sorensen.
Adam, who made his debut at Le Mans last month, will now concentrate on his British GT and Blancpain commitments with AMR.
“It’s not over for me in the WEC,” said Adam. “I can understand the decision, but obviously it’s disappointing also. I know if I keep doing a good job then there will be another chance and hopefully I’ll be back.”
