Iconic Group B rally cars will be cel­e­brated

A cel­e­bra­tion of 30 years since the end of the Group B ral­ly­ing era will be marked by a field of 30 rally cars tak­ing part in a mix of demon­stra­tion runs and com­pet­i­tive runs on each day.

Star of the show will be Jimmy Mcrae in the MG Metro 6R4 he drove in pe­riod and Rus­sell Brookes in one of his orig­i­nal Opel Manta 400s. Also in ac­tion will be the Audi quat­tro of Steve Perez, which com­peted at Shel­s­ley in 1986 with Hannu Mikkola at the wheel in cel­e­bra­tion of the 50th an­niver­sary of Stuck’s 1936 visit.

The Group B field takes in pe­riod clas­sics in­clud­ing more ex­am­ples of the Audi Quat­tro along with cars like a Lan­cia 037, Ford RS200, Re­nault 5 Maxi Turbo and Fer­rari 308GTB.
