“You need max­i­mum brak­ing for Stowe. You can trail-brake into the cor­ner as it’s so wide that you want to turn in faster than you’ll be go­ing at the apex. It’s strange for the brain as all im­pulses tell you it won’t work, but it does. It takes some pa­tience as the car will want to slow mid cor­ner, and you have to let it and then get on the power for the exit. You want to get back to the right quickly for the clas­sic ver­sion of Vale Cor­ner. It’s fast as you turn in early and have to ride the kerbs. The trick at Club is to man­age the car bal­ance as you have a lot of mo­men­tum push­ing you left and you have to turn against it. I use the sight of the flat part of the Club apex kerb­ing as my turn-in point.”
