Ex-karter and Formula Jedi racer Ryan HarperEllam has his sights set on British GT next season after a test with Century Motorsport.

The 18-year-old finished eighth in Formula Jedi in 2014 and ninth last year, despite only contesting a part-season. Harper-ellam ran at Donington Park recently in a Ginetta G55 GT4 as he chases a move into sportscars.

“I am looking at GT4 for next year,” he said. “Testing the Century G55 was my first time in an enclosed race car. I was a bit apprehensive to start, then felt at home after my second session and could’ve stayed on the track all day.”

Team head Nathan Freke added: “Ryan did very well in the test considering it was a car and a track he had little experience of. He’d never driven a GT car before and there’s a lot to adapt to, but he acquitted himself well and is a good prospect.”

Harper-ellam was ninth in Formula Jedi
