Enzo Fittipaldi eyes move to British F4 for 2017 after recent test
Ginetta Junior driver Enzo Fittipaldi is set to switch to the British F4 championship for 2017.
The grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson recently tested at Rockingham with Arden Motorsport, borrowing a Richardson Racing car as Arden’s machines were all being used by other young drivers.
He tested the car across two days at Rockingham and ran alongside Arden’s title contender Luis Leeds on the second day.
“The tests were on the Monday and Tuesday, Monday was about learning the car and Tuesday I ran alongside Luis and was about five tenths off his time so I was very happy,” said Fittipaldi. “It’s a close deal to race next season, and I’m fairly confident the budget is there or almost there. There’s a 50 per cent chance I’ll race with Fortec Motorsports and 50 per cent chance it’ll be with Arden, I’ve got some evaluating to do and I plan to do 10-12 test days before next season.”
Richardson boss Gwyn Richardson added: “It was a just a one-off test with us. He got on well and really enjoyed it.”
Fittipaldi is currently 17th in the Ginetta Junior standings in his first season racing cars.
