Crack Clio Cup squad WDE Motorsport joins forces with kart team for Fiesta Junior entry
Karting team BAB Motorsport will step up to the Fiesta Junior Championship as part of an affiliation with Clio Cup squad WDE Motorsport.
Run by Bill U’ren, BAB bought a Fiesta from Wayne Eason’s team last year but has held off from making its debut in the championship, with karter Josh Steed previously too young to compete.
Now aged 14, Steed is eligible to race and has a car registered for the final three rounds of the season. The car could be entered for the sixth round at Silverstone on August 27/28.
WDE previously ran cars in Fiesta Juniors and will be on hand to assist BAB with its efforts. Eason expects BAB to learn quickly, however.
“I missed doing Fiesta Juniors and it just seemed like a natural progression to help take BAB there,” Eason said.
“We’ll be there to help as much as needed, but they’re a very professional team and shouldn’t have many problems. Once they get out and people see what they can do they’ll be impressed.”
WDE has a second Fiesta up for sale, which Eason said he was keen to keep hold of until BAB was in a position to take on a second driver for the championship.
