Lanan Racing re-signs Reed and Foster for British GT4 attack
Top British GT4 squad Lanan Racing has re-signed rising star Alex Reed and Joey Foster for a second shot at the 2017 crown.
Reed and Formula Ford 1600 convert Foster have starred over the second half of this season, taking a breakthrough victory at Spa-francorchamps and a pole and podium finish last time out at Snetterton. They are third in the drivers’ standings.
Lanan has now bought a Ginetta G55 from the factory, having only had this year’s car on rental after its deal to buy a Porsche Cayman Clubsport GT4 fell through earlier in the year.
Team head Graham Johnson said: “With Alex and Joey we know we’ve got a mega driver pairing and we’ll be going for the GT4 championship next season, no doubt.
“If it hadn’t been for the car problems at the start of this year, where we didn’t know whether or not we’d be getting the Caymans and then having to adapt to the Ginetta at late notice, we’d have been in the title fight more this season.
“It’s been a learning year for both drivers, as Joey has had to adapt to the extra weight transfer and handling of a GT4 car, and as he’s adapted his driving style Alex has been able to learn alongside him. They complement each other.”
