First CSCC TV shows set to air
The first of three highlights programmes of the Classic Sports Car Club’s recent Thruxton meeting will be shown next week.
The hour-long shows on Motorstv mark the first time the club’s races have been televised and, if popular, more events could be shown in the future.
The first is scheduled for September 7.
The programmes document the first time all of the club’s categories visited the Hampshire circuit and CSCC director David Smitheram said feedback from drivers of the event was “exceptional”.
“Almost universally they [drivers] loved it and have asked ‘please can we go back?’” he said. “Inevitably not everyone’s going to like a circuit: some have loved it and hated it at the same time because of its speed and grassy run-offs. It was a privilege to be there – it was the right place.”
The club’s 2017 calendar won’t be released until later in the year and it’s not yet known if Thruxton will be part of it again.
