Mclaren’s Good­win makes dash to Oul­ton

Mclaren chief test driver Chris Good­win ar­rived at Oul­ton Park af­ter a Satur­day morn­ing dash from the Nardo test track in south­ern Italy.

Good­win wanted to use the Guards Tro­phy race as a pre-good­wood Re­vival shake­down for his Lo­tus 23B, which he’s not raced for four or five sea­sons. he fin­ished in third place.

“I flew into Stansted this morn­ing and drove to Oul­ton Park via home,” said Good­win, who ar­rived at the track with lit­tle more than an hour to spare be­fore the start of qualifying on Satur­day af­ter­noon. It’s a lovely car,” he said of the Lo­tus that was used in Swiss hill­climbs when new. “Oul­ton Park is the best race track in the coun­try!”
