Mclaren’s Goodwin makes dash to Oulton
Mclaren chief test driver Chris Goodwin arrived at Oulton Park after a Saturday morning dash from the Nardo test track in southern Italy.
Goodwin wanted to use the Guards Trophy race as a pre-goodwood Revival shakedown for his Lotus 23B, which he’s not raced for four or five seasons. he finished in third place.
“I flew into Stansted this morning and drove to Oulton Park via home,” said Goodwin, who arrived at the track with little more than an hour to spare before the start of qualifying on Saturday afternoon. It’s a lovely car,” he said of the Lotus that was used in Swiss hillclimbs when new. “Oulton Park is the best race track in the country!”
