Motorsport Vision’s Jonathan Palmer linked with Silverstone bid
Motorsport Vision head Jonathan Palmer could be on the verge of tendering a bid to run Silverstone, according to reports.
Silverstone’s owner, the British Racing Drivers’ Club, has been locked in negotiations over selling the 249-year lease to the British Grand Prix venue to Jaguar Land Rover. However, it is thought that talks on the deal have stalled in recent months. Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson has also tendered a bid, but the BRDC board voted in favour of pursuing talks with JLR.
According to the Telegraph, MSV boss Palmer is now keen to enter the fray. He is quoted as saying: “We are definitely interested in making an offer for Silverstone and have a lot of confidence in our ability to bring a great deal of stability to it and a vision for the future.
“The BRDC hasn’t approached me, but I’ve told them that I want the chance to be invited to put a deal forward. I have always said that MSV would be interested in running Silverstone.”
Motorsport Vison already runs Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Snetterton and Cadwell Park.
