F1 Dennis ROUND-UPtops all British GP3 podium at Monza
Brit Jake Dennis claimed his maiden GP3 win in the first race at Monza last weekend.
The Arden driver passed points leader Charles Leclerc into the first chicane on lap five and went on to claim victory.
“I’m delighted with my first win at Monza and in GP3,” Dennis said. “I’ve had some podiums here before, but to get the win is fantastic.
“The move on Charles had to be done. I noticed from the start of the race that I had lots of understeer and wasn’t helped by being behind him. Once I was in the lead, the balance came back.”
Dennis’ team-mate Jack Aitken and DAMS’ Jake Hughes made it an all-british podium with Leclerc fourth.
Nyck de Vries was another first-time winner in race two but the main incident was a clash between Leclerc and ART teammate Nirei Fukuzumi, which resulted in Fukuzumi getting a grid penalty for the next race. Alexander Albon was top Brit in second, with Dennis and Aitken fourth and fifth respectively.
