Bartholomew in straight GT4 fight
Jack Bartholomew will call on the knowledge of reigning category champion Ross Gunn to help his title bid at Donington Park.
BRDC F4 graduate Bartholomew is chasing a maiden GT crown and trails Optimum Motorsport’s Ginetta G55 crew of Graham Johnson and Mike Robinson by 2.5 points.
Bartholomew is also fighting to help the Beechdean AMR team secure a third successive GT4 title. He will be partnered by last year’s winner Gunn after regular driver Jordan Albert was forced to pull out.
“Ross knows the car inside out and has done a lot of the development on the new seven-speed gearbox for this year and also the set-up work, so he’s ideal to learn from,” said Bartholomew.
“It’ll be a straight fight between us and Optimum this weekend. It comes down to whoever finishes ahead. It doesn’t even really matter if we win.”
The Beechdean car has 20 seconds extra in the pit stops. Optimum has 15s.
