Carr to build Escort after ending BRC
Reigning BTRDA Rally First champion Nick Carr has a Ford Escort Mk2 in build ready to take on the British Historic Rally Championship.
Carr – along with co-driver Nick Sturdy – has competed in the Junior British Rally Championship this year, but their Ford Fiesta R2 has been no match for the category-leading cars.
Carr works for Rallysport Development – the firm which built Matthew Robinson’s Fiat 131 Abarth BHRC car – and is hoping to be ready to compete on select events next year.
“I want to build a really fast Escort and go and have some fun,” said 22-year-old Carr.
“I want to get it built for the RAC Rally when it comes back next year, so we’ll do a couple of events next year and the year after that we’ll do the whole historic championship.”
