Rally Latvia to become gravel event with new three-year European deal
Rally Latvia will become a gravel rally and remain on the European Rally Championship calendar for three more years after the event and championship agreed a new deal.
This year’s event was postponed due to a lack of snow, its original date being February 5-7.
It was decided that the new counter would take place from September 16-18.
For the remainder of the deal, Latvia will become a gravel event.
“We’re delighted to confirm the extension of our contract with Rally Latvia for a further three years,” said ERC general co-ordinator Jean-baptiste Ley. “It has brought a unique dimension to the FIA European Rally Championship since joining as a snow rally, and we are sure that it will be just as spectacular when it runs as a gravel rally next month.”
