Tregurtha contemplates GT4 step after title
Newly crowned Ginetta Junior champion William Tregurtha is eyeing a move up to the GT4 Supercup next season.
The 16-year-old wrapped up the title with two races to spare at Silverstone last weekend and is now considering his 2017 plans.
“We’ve got a bunch of options,” he said. “Obviously the Ginetta Supercup is probably the biggest of them at the minute and I’d like to do that. That is probably what I’ll do but we do have other things going.”
Tregurtha has become the fourth HHC Motorsport driver to win the title in the last five years and team boss Charlie Kemp said: “It’s not just consistency that’s won it. If he’s not had the ability to win because something has gone wrong or something has happened – as it does in Ginetta Juniors – he’s been able to keep his head, and that’s really been something very impressive.”
Tregurtha added: “I can’t describe how it feels, I’m just in shock, and I can’t believe that I’ve done it.”
