YELLOW FLAG AWARD
Having set his fastest Q2 time and overtaken Esteban Gutierrez while under yellow flags to jump into the top 10, everyone in the world – except Perez himself – expected a penalty. When he was bumped back eight grid positions (five for ignoring the yellow flag, three for overtaking), he was furious but few had any sympathy. At he least recovered well in the race, though.
Nico Rosberg’s pole position was the 150th for a Mercedes engine in F1.the first came back in the 1954 French Grand Prix at Reims, when Juan Manuel Fangio took pole in the marque’s first world championship appearance.
