Big en­gine blow

Mark Walker’s amaz­ing 1905 Dar­racq was side­lined dur­ing qual­i­fy­ing at the VSCC Mal­lory Park meet­ing last week­end af­ter a cat­a­strophic en­gine fail­ure. One of the 25-litre en­gine’s two cylin­der heads was blown off the en­gine block ahead of the an­nual Ed­war­dian race. Walker does have an­other en­gine and hopes to re­turn the car to rac­ing next sea­son.
