Perez signs one-year Force India deal extension
Sergio Perez will remain with Force India for at least one more season after signing a new 12-month deal with the Silverstone team.
The Mexican has been linked with moves away from the outfit, but talks between his commercial backers and Force India – who had an option on the 26-year-old for 2017 – proved fruitful.
Perez said: “I’m very happy with this team and I have a good feeling for the future. I’ve seen the progress we’ve made over the last couple of years and I’m sure we have the potential to achieve even more. I’m excited for the rest of this season, and for the challenge that awaits all of us in 2017.”
Nico Hulkenberg will also remain a Force India driver for next year with 10 seats reportedly up for grabs on the F1 grid in 2017.
Perez joined Force India in 2014.
