Fewtrell eyes move to Formula Renault
Newly crowned British F4 champion Max Fewtrell is eyeing a step up to Formula Renault 2.0 machinery for next season after securing the F4 title at Brands Hatch last weekend.
The Carlin racer, 17, won the finale and with rival Sennan Fielding only managing to climb to third, Fewtrell was able to take the title by seven points.
“I would like to do Formula Renault next year, which would be exciting,” said Fewtrell, who had previously contested the MRF Challenge in Asia last winter. “It’s the best way to end the championship with a win although it hasn’t really sunk in yet.
“I was under a lot of pressure and I could see Sennan was in third and I thought he could get really close.”
Fewtrell’s only slight mistake in the final race was a wobble at Stirlings early on which he described as “probably the scariest moment of the whole season”.
