Historic titles up for grabs at Silverstone
Callum Grant and Rob Wainwright will settle the Historic FF1600 title in this weekend’s HSCC Finals Meeting at Silverstone.
Grant, the 2012 champion, has the upperhand after eight wins from 13 rounds and can seal the crown with a win or two fourth places in his Merlyn Mk20. Wainwright can only try to win both races in his Elden Mk8.
Three more titles will be decided, including the Historic Touring Cars where leader Simon Benoy is facing a race against time to get his Hillman Imp repaired after an accident at Oulton Park. His rivals include more Imps for Steve Platts and Adrian Oliver, Roger Godfrey (Mini Cooper) and Peter Hore (Lotus Cortina). Julian Barter is close to beating Jim Dean to the ’70s Road Sports title, while John Davison is favourite to take the Guards Trophy.
