Rounds five and six of the shootout is one of the most chal­leng­ing week­end for the driv­ers with Satur­day night’s Tar­mac round at Skeg­ness fol­lowed by Sh­effield’s shale meet­ing on Sun­day.

Nigel Green had the most pro­duc­tive week­end. He won on Satur­day night, hold­ing off a strong chal­lenge from Lee Fairhurst, be­fore col­lect­ing a third place on Sun­day. It’s good enough for Green to take the lead in the shootout with four rounds re­main­ing.

At Skeg­ness, Green was slowed at the start when he tan­gled with Frankie Wain­man Jr, but he fought back to pass Fairhurst with a cou­ple of laps to go.

On the fi­nal turn Fairhurst slammed into Green but was un­able to shift the race leader.
