British drivers battle among themselves in FIA Hill Climb Masters event
A number of Uk-based competitors headed to the FIA Hill Climb Masters event in the Czech Republic at Sternberk last weekend.
The eight-strong British entry was in the open Category 3 for cars conforming to the individual regulations of their country. It became a category the British entrants dominated.
Scot Wallace Menzies finished third with a 1m19.67s on his third and final run. The grandstand finish, however, belonged to Scott Moran and Trevor Willis, who traded leading times over all three runs after typically smooth and spectacular efforts respectively. On his last run Willis produced a 1m19.11s in his OMS, before six-time British champion Scott Moran produced a 1m18.93s.
Nine-time European champion Simone Faggioli won the event overall.
