Simon Kingsley drove nearly faultlessly at the John Southern Trial in Cumbria 10 days ago to take a comfortable win, just one point off the optimum.

Kingsley led all day in fairly dry conditions, taking his second win of the year in the BTRDA championship. Behind saw a six-way battle with second to eighth covered by a handful of points at lunch but come the end of the third round Bryan Walker secured runner-up place just ahead of Barry Hogg and Andrew Woodhead, who scored his best result of the year at national level.

Julian Fack had been trying to remove his Crossle spark plugs all week and ended up fifth.
