Myherin

“We have run in this direction, but not since the late 1990s and not with the new road installed for the wind farm. Great stage, great condition and one of the keys will be keeping it neat and tidy through the wide hairpins at the finish.”

Sweet Lamb

“We’ve made quite a few changes for this year, all of which will make this an even better stage for spectators. For the first time, the cars will go across the bridge across the river on the far side of the bowl – so you’ll see the cars in action for even longer.”

Hafren

“Running in the south-north configuration, we’ve got just about every piece of road available to us in here. This stage is in great condition, like Myherin it’s been graded in places, but the surface is very good.”

Dyfnant

“There’s been quite a lot of harvesting in here, so there are a couple of sections which have been graded with bigger stone. These places might get a bit rutted on the second run, but we’re only talking a couple of hundred metres. Otherwise, great.”

Pantperthog

“We’ve shortened this one slightly from the original plan to allow a local resident access during the day – this means the start has moved around three-quarters of a mile in from where it was. Great to have this stage back again.” “Another first from the late 1990s, running Dyfi in this direction to its full length. We ran the cars this way in 2011, but split the stage in two with a couple of miles of road section in the middle. Should be a great challenge with a strong surface.”

Gartheiniog

“Exactly the same as last year. Like Dyfi, the surface in here is great, but might get a bit muddier second time through. Lovely rhythm in this one.”

Aberhirnant

“Same as last year and only run once on the way back in towards Cholmondeley and service. Lovely condition and, as ever, really quick section in the middle of the stage.”

Clocaenog

“Slightly different in nature to the stages in mid-wales, but the road’s in good condition and will provide an interesting start to the final day.”

Alwen

“Quite a lot of harvesting has gone on in this stage in the last few months. There was a section where the cars came through a tunnel of trees – all of those have gone now opening up the road considerably. The surface is good and the road quick between the junctions.”

Brenig

“Changed around from last year to start where it finished alongside the lake. The cars then come down and loop around the Tarmac section and up to the finish alongside the dam, where all the fans will be – providing a great atmosphere on the final stage.”
