Hunt car to go on show in Lon­don

The 40th an­niver­sary of James Hunt’s World Cham­pi­onship vic­tory in 1976 will be marked dur­ing the Re­gent Street Mo­tor Show on Satur­day.

Hunt’s ti­tle-win­ning Mclaren M23 will be on show in cen­tral Lon­don dur­ing the build-up to the fol­low­ing day’s Lon­don to Brighton Vet­eran Car Run.

Last year, 450,000 vis­i­tors at­tended the show as the en­tire length of Re­gent Street from Pic­cadilly Cir­cus to Ox­ford Cir­cus is closed to traf­fic for the day.

Hunt’s son Fred­die, who has raced him­self, will be present while closer to Pic­cadilly Cir­cus the Sil­ver­stone Clas­sic event dis­play will have sev­eral Grand Prix cars from the 1980s on show.
