Dear reader,

What a thrilling year this has been for motorsport – full of thrills, in­trigue and ex­cit­ing twists in the plot.

One in par­tic­u­lar you might al­ready have heard about: Au­tosport (in­clud­ing its Au­tosport In­ter­na­tional Show and the Au­tosport Awards), F1 Rac­ing, Motorsport News and LAT Im­ages are now part of the same fam­ily as Motorsport.com and its fam­ily of web­sites.

As a loyal reader of one (if not all!) of these cel­e­brated ti­tles, I can imag­ine that you might be ask­ing: ‘what does this mean for the mag­a­zine, web­site, or ex­hi­bi­tion I know and love?’

Well, I’d like to take this op­por­tu­nity to out­line how we’re plan­ning to of­fer much more to you, the reader and race fan, in the years ahead.

In short, we aim to take these pil­lars of the sport to a higher level, ex­pand­ing the way we de­liver motorsport cov­er­age with the clear am­bi­tion of bring­ing you, the fan, even closer to the ac­tion.

And to al­lay any fears, that means keeping every­thing we’ve been lucky enough to bring into the Motorsport Net­work sta­ble – but im­prov­ing them wher­ever we can.

So F1 Rac­ing will con­tinue to pros­per as the in­ter­na­tional gospel of For­mula One – ex­pect to see the mag­a­zine pro­mote more events and fan ac­tiv­i­ties in the year ahead.

And I’m hugely ex­cited to an­nounce the re­turn of the leg­endary Nigel Roe­buck and his much-loved Fifth Col­umn to Au­tosport, in print and on line. We’ll be re­unit­ing him with the peer­less tech­ni­cal il­lus­tra­tor, Gior­gio Pi­ola. I hope you’ll agree that’s quite a ‘driver pair­ing’!

Motorsport News,, mean­while, will re­main on the news-stand, but look out for a new dig­i­tal pres­ence soon.

In ad­di­tion, you’ll have eas­ier ac­cess to be­spoke cov­er­age from an ar­ray of newly af­fil­i­ated sis­ter ti­tles, such as Motorsport. com, Mo­tor1.com and Fer­rarichat. These last two will be of par­tic­u­lar ap­peal to per­for­mance road car en­thu­si­asts.

Then there’s Mo­tor­store, a des­ti­na­tion web­site for any fan want­ing to ‘show their colours’ through li­censed racewear and mer­chan­dise.

And that’s not the end of the jour­ney. Driven by our fans’ de­sire to ac­cess not just the best news, fea­tures and photography, but also to wit­ness live ac­tion and the very best high­lights, we’re de­vel­op­ing a ma­jor broad­cast­ing ini­tia­tive. Motorsport de­serves a ded­i­cated tele­vi­sion ‘home’ and I’m thrilled to tell you about our plans to do just that – all driven by the knowl­edge and pas­sion of the world’s finest motorsport jour­nal­ists work­ing for Motorsport.com and Au­tosport.com.

With all we have, and all we in­tend to do next year, Motorsport Net­work will be bring­ing you, the mo­tor rac­ing fan, an en­riched motorsport ex­pe­ri­ence. There will be no lim­its to our ef­forts to in­no­vate and im­prove the way rac­ing is cov­ered, so look out for 360-de­gree on-board race cov­er­age and com­pelling new live motorsport feeds straight to your mo­bile de­vice.

We want to ‘think like a fan’ and pro­vide ac­cess to motorsport in as many ways you wish.

So that’s our mis­sion: pre­serv­ing the great names that have joined Motorsport Net­work this year, but never rest­ing on our lau­rels – there’s much, much more to come. Strap in tight and en­joy the ride!
