Lewis Hamilton has hit out at the decision to red flag the Brazilian GP for a second time. The race was blighted by persistent, and often heavy, rain and had to be halted twice due to the conditions and endured five safety car periods. However, Hamilton blasted the choice to red flag the race again after attempting to restart it with a long safety car period. “I can understand the first red flag as people were going off,” said Hamilton. “The second one, the track was ready for inters but the safety car stayed out for ages. The track was the same throughout pretty much. It was pointless to have the safety car out, we could have kept going.”
