Xentek to field four cars in GT4 Supercup
Title-winning Ginetta GT5 Challenge team Xentek Motorsport will launch a four-car assault on the GT4 Supercup next season.
The team won the GT5 championship with Ollie Chadwick this year, but will now step up to the British Touring Car Championship support category.
Chadwick completed a toe-inthe-water weekend in the series for the team at Silverstone and now the squad’s GT5 racers Jac Constable and Alex Taylor will move up. The team will also run race winner Carl Boardley in partnership with the Hot Rod champion’s own team, as well as a fourth driver.
“It [the Supercup] will be the best bet to move in the right way for us with bigger cars and a higher level championship,” said team co-owner Chris Richards.
“Nick [Hart, team co-owner] has run GT4 cars before with JHR so we’ve got experience. We’ve got the drivers and they want to move on and rather than find a new set of drivers we will stay on with those we already know.
“We’ll also run Boardley in cooperation with his own team – he is providing mechanics.”
Xentek is likely to continue running cars in the GT5 Challenge, alongside its GT4 expansion.
