Stars recalled with Goodwood races
Four new races will feature at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting in March, capped by the Pierpoint Cup for pre ’67 American V8 saloon cars.
The race is named after 1965 British Saloon Car champion Roy Pierpoint, who took the title in an Alan Mann Racingprepared Ford Mustang.
The Varzi Trophy will be for pre-war French and Italian Grand Prix and Voiturette cars and is named after Italian ace Achille Varzi.
The memory of Archie Scott Brown will be honoured by a new race for all models of Lister sports cars that raced up to 1966, while the Weslake Cup caters for A-seriesengined sports and GT cars that raced between 1958 and 1966.
