Pearson collects another bit of Alfa Romeo’s tin-top legacy
Team Parker Racing won Performance of the Year award at last week’s Bentley Motorsport awards evening. The team won the award for its performance in the Blancpain GT Series and British GT Championship, in which drivers Seb Morris and Rick Parfitt Jr finished third. Parfitt was also recognised individually at the event, winning the Best Am award, while independent team Jordan Racing was presented with the Spirit of Bentley prize for Jordan Witt’s title-winning GT Cup campaign.
John Pearson has added a second important Alfa Romeo to his collection by acquiring the ex-italian championship-winning 156 Super Production.
Pearson already owns the Super Touring car used by Fabrizio Giovanardi to win the 1999 Italian title and has now added the same year’s Super Production- winning car of Luis Villamil.
“The Super Production car was built by Bigazzi and later turned up in the UK with Gary Ayles,” said Pearson. “It later went into Britcar and has not raced for about 10 years. I bought it at the Silverstone Classic Auction in July,” said Pearson after a shakedown race at the Walter Hayes Trophy meeting.
