Classic Formula Fords go on show
Formula Fords raced by Michael Schumacher, Emerson Fittipaldi and Jody Scheckter will headline the category’s 50th anniversary display at Autosport International at the NEC (January 12-15).
The HSCC will show eight iconic cars including a Lotus 51, the car that made up the bulk of the grid for the inaugural race at Brands Hatch in 1967.
One of the most successful Merlyns is the ‘Magic’ Merlyn Mk11a first raced by Emerson Fittipaldi and then by Jody Scheckter. The car is now owned by Scheckter.
From 1977 is the Royale RP24 raced by the late David Leslie. From the 1980s is the ex-michael Schumacher Van Diemen RF88 loaned by Derek Hood of JD Classics.
The new Medina Sport JL16K will also be loaned by its creator John Loebell.
